100% of all funds raised will be donated to these two organizations who share the same vision: to improve the quality of life for youth personally dealing with victimization, loss, and the death of loved ones.

iHuman Youth Society is a refuge for over one hundred of Edmonton's most "at-risk", homeless youth ranging in age from 13 to 24. iHuman values the use of artistic self-expression through various forms of art, drama, theatre, music, poetry in order for these young people to confront their past issues and to encourage them to use them in a way that would contribute to a more positive society.

After struggling and winning his fight with cancer at only 11 years old, Michael Cuccione dedicated his life to 'Making a Difference.' He passed away in 2001 at 16 with a dying wish that no other child would suffer from this disease again. The foundation administers its funds exclusively for cancer research and for the use of children's hospitals located in Canada. Every dollar raised in Alberta is donated to children's cancer research at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

Inspiration / Dedication

My mother, Patricia Grace Ducharme, was murdered by her boyfriend in 1996 in Campbell River, B.C. I was only fourteen years old. The inspiration and motivation for this event comes from my passion to offer assistance and compassion to others who face devastating challenges. The experience of losing her has strengthened me to forgive the killer so that I could do all the good that my mother raised me with, and this is how I decided to share my life and make a difference.

Const. Peter Schiemann was one of four R.C.M.P. officers who were murdered in March of 2005. Peter was a friend to many at Concordia University College of Alberta, and personally assisted me in preparing to write my own examination for employment with the R.C.M.P. One month prior to his death, I contacted Peter about this fundraiser and he was eager to help us plan the event. Our committee decided to dedicate this event as a symbol of hope to the surviving families.
